All Aboard: First EFE Bus for 2018

We are pleased to announce the first new EFE model for Jan/Feb 2018 will be a BET bodied AEC Reliance carrying South Yorkshire Transport Livery.

New to Maidstone & District in 1961, 336 NKT was brought in to Booth & Fisher's fleet in 1973. In 1975 South Yorkshire Pasenger Transport Executive (SYPTE) took over operations, though Booth & Fisher was operated as a separate company for a few years until all vehicles had been repainted in to SYPTE colours.

Our model depicts 336 NKT, in SYPTE livery whilst still carrying the Booth & Fisher legal lettering. Fleet numbered No. 1087, on route 256 to Killamarsh.

E24332 is not only set to be EFE's first model release of 2018, it is also the first EFE model to feature newly tooled side mirrors - one of the many enhancements Bachmann is making to existing EFE castings!

E24332 is currently set for a Jan/Feb release and is available to pre order now from your local Bachmann retailer RRP of £29.95.

Please visit our stockist pages to find your nearest retailer, or our dedicated product pages for more information on our wide variety of products.

Southdown Motor Service LTD was created in 1915 amidst the turbulence of WWI, it was formed by the joining of three major operators: Worthing Motor Services, London & South Coast Haulage Co and the country services of the Brighton, Hove & Preston United Omnibus Co.

Over the following years, Southdown acquired many other smaller companies, which brought a diverse collection of vehicles into their fleet, though from the start they showed a preference for buses of Leyland manufacture, which would last until their acquisition in 1969 by the state-owned National Bus Company.Today Southdown lives on as part of the Stagecoach group, which still runs the Portsmouth to Brighton 700 ‘Coastline’ route and still uses some of Southdown’s original depots.

Southdown is remembered for many things, leading the field in British and Continental coach tours, their network of express services from London to the coastal towns of Hampshire and Sussex, but mostly for their fleet of pristine ‘cars’ decorated in a distinctive apple green and cream livery, which left a lasting impression on locals and holidaymakers alike.
